Hello guys! As you know, I have been working on the Stratford project for the past few weeks now and it's nearly finished! In this post I will show you all photographs of Stratford that were accepted on Vogue.

look out for a full body of work next week!

Hey guys! I've finally started shooting for my urban landscape project and I have to admit that at the beginning it seemed like one of the most boring things however it turned out to be pretty interesting. I did my first shoot on the 16th October and at that stage I wasn't sure what sort of approach I should take; whether to make these images look pretty, colourful, realistic, 3D or dramatic this is why they didn't have any style at all. Although today's shoot went so well that I can't wait to produce a full body of work! (I will let you know where I am going to go from here in my next post).

The first two images are on Vogue Italia!

Second week at uni!

/ Tuesday, 15 October 2013 /
Hey guys! It's been a while since I have posted anything here so I'm going to have to catch up with everything that was happening through the past few months. As I have posted before, my exhibition in June was a big success and since then I didn't really do much photography as I knew that I will be moving out to London and I will need money so... I had to find a job (not photography related). This is why I didn't have anytime to shoot. Two months have past way too quickly and before I've realised it was time to move out!

So I am currently living in London and doing my degree at Middlesex University. I have started exactly two weeks ago and I have to admit that it was quite stressful at the beginning; new city, new people however I have been given briefs already and I will be trying to let you know week by week what I am doing and obviously I will be posting pictures.

(I am doing two projects at the same time - documentary and urban landscape)

For those of you who follow my blog, you probably know that I haven't done a documentary or urban landscape project before so this might be exciting! I will be also trying to do my personal shoots during this time and focus a bit more on fine art, fashion and beauty to build stronger portfolio.

This is one of the pictures I have taken today with long shutter speed and without looking through the viewer (part of the assignment). Let me know what you think!

Journey through our minds

Journey through our minds

How do people perceive you, your personality, your background, your style, your language and your opinion? We are all individually recognized by how we talk, dress and move. Today’s youth are struggling between the two identities; the social media and their own. People always try to satisfy both to build their image, there is a constant battle between those two; they try to show some parts of their identity that they have never developed before to satisfy their own individual character. This type of behavior can be taken as an act of immaturity and ignorance. As we grow older, the identity begins to play a bigger role in our lives, as we get more independent, we learn through our mistakes and have to take consequences for our actions. The way we represent ourselves is a lifelong process and in my body of work, I have been trying to reveal identities; real identities. The Natural image of the youth doesn't necessarily have to mean that we are all classified as one, we all have different personalities and this is how I want my images to be perceived. Every individual photograph means something and represents a different character.

As August Sander, the great German portraitist of the early 20th century points out:

...people are not simply what they are but rather are engaged in a continuing process of creating and projecting themselves. Language, gestures, clothing, and the like are the usual means by which people announce their social aspirations, express their fantasies, and mark out the boundaries of their identities.

Exhibition night

/ Thursday, 4 July 2013 /
I would like to thank everyone who came to the opening night on the 18th June, it was great to see people looking at my work. I also wanted to thank people that helped me with hanging, printing and framing :)

The past two years of college were really stressful and there was a lot going on however I have gained new skills, more experience and met new people. In two months time I will be starting University and moving to London however now I need to have some time to myself and focus on my personal projects. I will be trying to network a little more and hopefully make some new connections.

I will be posting my final images tomorrow with my artist statement.
Here is a picture of my exhibition wall taken just before 7 pm on Tuesday

First Final Image

/ Thursday, 16 May 2013 /
I have finally started working on my final major project and at this point I am a little stuck whether I still want to edit rocks, leafs and trees onto my model's bodies as I like how the portraits have turned out. The picture below is my final portrait that I might be manipulating with later on at the editing stage. I will write a brief artist statement next week to let you know what my work is about. Also I just wanted to let you know that the end of year exhibition will be taking place in the University Centre Peterborough on the 18th June 2013.
Here is my photograph, let me know what you think :)
